"I have so many kids on my current caseload that have sensory challenges and regulation issues, and I always feel lost trying to support them. I catch myself easily giving up in sessions, until now! I can't wait to use some of these strategies to help regulate these children and set them up in the best environment for them to communicate."
This course is now open for enrollment.
Learn how to confidently support young children through regulation and sensory challenges!
If you are an SLP or early childhood professional who sometimes struggles with a lack of engagement and sustained attention in your therapy sessions, you are not alone!
While this can look very different in different children, the cause is usually the same- dysregulation.
Our neurodivergent children with sensory processing differences are more likely to experience dysregulation and require support in this area. Moments of dysregulation are also pretty common across the board for young children who have not fully developed their pre-frontal cortex- basically all toddlers and preschoolers.
Do any of these cases sound familiar?
- the child who bolts the moment you get close
- the child who has zero interest in you
- the child who is recklessly crashing, jumping, and climbing
- the child who can’t resist throwing and banging toys
These are the case descriptions that come up over and over when SLPs are feeling stuck in therapy.
When a child’s brain and body aren’t in a state of regulation, meaningful engagement feels out of reach. And as SLPs, we know that without engagement, progress with communication and learning stalls. That’s why understanding and addressing regulation challenges is essential to our success in therapy.
The Confidently Co-Regulating Course was created to help you work through tricky cases, turning challenging moments into opportunities for connection and growth. You’ll learn how to:
- Build a foundation of trust and connection to support regulation.
- Select individualized strategies that match each child’s sensory and arousal needs.
- Foster engagement, attention, and communication—even in the most challenging sessions.
This course also equips you with over 30 printable resources, including a sensory and arousal screening form, to guide your observations and strategies. Plus, you'll gain tools to confidently coach caregivers in creating co-regulation supports at home.
Stop spinning your wheels during dysregulated sessions and learn how to confidently co-regulate so that you can unlock the full potential of your therapy sessions!

Course Testimonials
Marcia Church, Pediatric SLP & Private Practice Owner
This course did such a wonderful job explaining co-regulation and how important understanding our client’s individual sensory profiles is to allow us as Speech Therapists to help our clients become regulated. She shared easy to implement strategies to reach optimal arousal when we are engaging and working with the birth-5 population, and also when to refer for to an Occupational Therapist. My son has been receiving Occupational Therapy for 2 years and some of her specific suggestions I can personally take away to utilize at home for my own child. This is a course I wish I would have had when I first started working with the birth-5 population. Early & Bright does an amazing job with the speakers and printed handouts/workbooks to pair with a concise and informative course. Strongly recommend adding this to your therapy toolbox.
Liz, Pediatric SLP
This was such an informative and helpful course. It helped me build a great foundation for co-regulation with my clients. I had a different interpretation of what being regulated meant and how co-regulation precedes self-regulation. As an SLP, I feel more confident now observing a child and determining arousal states with the information that Katherine provides. So many great takeaways from this course. The enclosed workbook provides great visual supports for the course info.
Abby, Pediatric SLP
My caseload this year is the full buffet—from Early Intervention all the way to later elementary. The Confidently Co-Regulating Course truly gave me fresh insights and practical strategies for each child I work with. I had so many ‘lightbulb’ moments that had me hitting pause mid-video to jot down a student’s name and an idea I knew would click with them—and I’m already itching to bring these ideas to the team next week! While I work closely with our OTs and PTs, I hadn’t quite grasped all the ways I could support regulation as the speech therapist. Now, I’m excited to incorporate these new skills into my sessions, from small groups to preschool push-in sessions that I need ALL the support with co-regulation. I completed the course in a single weekend, and I can’t stop telling my husband who, bless him, has no background in this field—how impactful it was. A clear 5/5 stars!
Nicole, Pediatric SLP
I highly enjoyed learning about co-regulation! Even as an SLP that has participated in co-treatments with OT, I still learned a lot taking this course. I highly enjoyed how regulation, dysregulation, and co-regulation strategies were explained - very easy to understand. Katie provided lots of examples and resources which helped kept my attention! I am eager to use the handouts and the workbook to help guide me during clinical practice. I now feel more confident in educating caregivers on how important regulation is to increase engagement and communication. I highly recommend this course to any SLP that works with patients with sensory differences!
